Walter Rivera Named Director of Product Development - Mechanical
Kegel is proud to announce that Walter Rivera has been promoted to Director of Product Development for the Mechanical Department of Kegel.
Walter will work closely with EVP of Mechanical Product Development and Support, Mark Davis, to manage the product line of existing lane machines. In addition, he will oversee the team of engineers and developers as they continue to research and design future innovations for Kegel.
Walter moved from Puerto Rico to Florida to join the Kegel team in 2018 as a Full Stack Software Developer. Over the past five years, he worked on many projects for Kegel including the Kegel Pattern Library web and mobile applications. Most recently, he was one of the key contributors to the development and launch of the Atlas Lane Machine, which was released at Bowl Expo 2023 in Orlando.
“Walter is such an important team member at Kegel and has done incredible work pushing the boundaries of our product line,” shares Chris Chartrand, Kegel CEO. “Given how much he has grown since he’s been here, we’re excited to see what his future holds because we believe he’s only scratched the surface of his potential!”
Walter first started bowling competitively in a youth league at age 11. From 2009-2014 he owned and managed the pro shop in Bolera Caribe located in Ponce, Puerto Rico and attended a Pro Shop Training course at Kegel to further his bowling knowledge. Walter left his pro shop in 2014, when he moved to attend college. He received his BS in Computer Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico in 2018.
